What type of shoe are you repairing?
Soft
Soft shoes are designed to maximize feel and sensitivity. They will conform to the surface and work well on technical boulder and sport climbs. They allow the shoes to conform to the wearer by having a softer midsole and utilizing a softer rubber. Softer rubber means better stick but less durability.
Stiff
Stiff shoes are made to excel on small edges and give added support to the foot for longer routes. At the cost of sensitivity, they will give confidence and support on even the smallest of holds and edges. Another benefit of stiff rubber is the added durability over a softer compound.

vibram
xsGrip2 (+$6)
Vibram XS GRIP 2 delivers measurably improved grip with a level of firmness ideal for moderate edging and slopey holds, while maintaining consistent performance in all temperatures.
davos
TechnoStick
Is a soft compound that guarantees good smearing and conforming to minimal texture. Very supple but wears quicker than Davos Zero.
Note: the color of this rubber is yellow.
davos
Zero
Good all around friction. Suggested for slabs and vertical walls where precision is necessary, but also excels on steeper terrain. More durable than Technostick and softer than xsEdge.
stiff
vibram
xsEdge (+$6)
Vibram xsEdge delivers improved durability, excellent precision grip, while adding higher level of firmness for the most challenging of edging moves.
davos
Plus
The stiffest rubber in the davos line up, plus is a great option for full sole shoes and when edging and endurance is a must. This rubber is longer wearing and comes in a 5mm thickness for added durability.
*Davos Zero is our standard soft rubber for more aggressive shoes, and Davos Plus is our standard stiff rubber for more neutral shoes. If you are unsure of what rubber you would like, then these options are excellent choices at the best cost.
